Now that we have confirmed the existence and location of his new restaurant last week, we can now say that Mr. Fujimoto is now living happily in downtown Pyongyang, North Korea.

After months of preparation, the sushi bar called "Takahashi" is up and running, located in a new Japanese ramen restaurant called the Pyongyang Ramen House (평양라면집) "

They serve "Inue" style ramen noodle which are a style of Ramen which has become famous in Japan and is served at shops next to the Tsukiji fish market in Toyko.

The restaurant is not cheap, but Mr. Fujimoto is a celebrated sushi chef in Japan and I can tell you from first-hand experience that he definitely makes the best sushi in North Korea. Further, I would say he’s one of the best chefs in all of Japan.

We have posted the photos and a video that we have put together below. We have also included some pictures of the menu and a few of the items that were ordered.

I haven’t seen Mr. Fujimoto since April of last year, but now that I’ve found him I’m going to visit his new sushi restaurant "Takahashi", this April for the first time. The trip is planned from April 14th to 17th 2017 and it is during the 105th Birthday celebrations of the country’s founder. It’s going to be an amazing trip to see North Korea!  See below for more information on how to join.
